Early 19th century rosewood mantel clock

Octagonal  rosewood case, with fretted support  and rectangular base ( with side opening draw) 
overall height 56cm. The case is liberally inlaid with brass foliage and mounted showmen bearing flags
This theatrical clock design was very popular during the reign of King George IV.
The movement is French,  fitted with a lever platform escapement of 8 day duration.
