MARBLE-CASED CLOCK WITH ENGLISH MOVEMENT

A fine example of a marble-cased clock with an English movement.
This architectural style case is made of solid Belgian marble and the engraved gilt dial has the name West & Co, 2 Circus Place, Finsbury Circus London just below the 12 O'clock.
This clock has a fine English chain driven fusee movement with recoil escapement.
The clock dates from 1860 and was made by Barraud & Lund, Cornhill, London, they made at least two different black marble Egyptian-style clocks around this time
